mamazone – Frauen und Forschung gegen Brustkrebs e.V. is the largest and most active breast cancer patient initiative in Germany with around 1600 members and a scientific advisory board of breast cancer experts with an international reputation. Non-profit association since 1999, with headquarters in Augsburg and 19 activity centers nationwide.
Every year, mamazone members provide 1,500 personal consultations and support for women with breast cancer. Women with breast cancer are informed, supported, empowered and accompanied.
Projects:
– Annual three-day congress event “Diplompatientin” at Augsburg University Hospital for breast cancer patients with over 20 presentations by renowned experts
– “mamazoneMAG” magazine with scientific articles. Two issues per year, 60 pages, circulation 10,000
– “La Mamma” training for nursing staff and practice employees
– “mamazone-Mobil” information tours throughout Germany
– Further training on early breast cancer detection
– Various other campaigns

The city of Munich stands for an urban society without discrimination with equal opportunities for all.
