The Girls’ Protection Center is commissioned by the Munich City Youth Welfare Office to take girls into care on the legal basis of Section 42 SGB VIII with the aim of averting an imminent threat to their welfare.
Fifteen places are available for girls aged 12 to 18 in acute emergency and crisis situations. The girls’ protection center offers protection, care and temporary accommodation. It provides crisis intervention and is available for admissions around the clock. It supports girls impartially in the clarification process and conducts regular counseling and support sessions with the girls based on a resource- and solution-oriented approach.
The team at the girls’ protection center consists of several social education workers, a pedagogical and a therapeutic specialist service with a high level of crisis competence, some of whom have many years of experience in youth welfare and working with girls.
