Portrait and offer
Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V. is a non-profit, independent association that was founded in Munich in 2003 by Renate Haidinger, a medical journalist and breast cancer sufferer herself. Since then, the association has been helping those affected and interested with comprehensive information on prevention and early detection, current treatment options, organizing events, campaigns, cooperations and much more under the motto “Prognose Leben” (Prognosis Life).
“Prognosis Quality of Life” is the motto under which the association addresses the needs of those affected in the metastatic situation. Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V. is supported by a high-caliber advisory board made up of over 40 specialists from all over Germany. With the help of the medical advisory board, the association organizes the free weekly medical telephone consultation and offers informative video interviews from national and international congresses as well as live broadcasts of expert round tables on its YouTube channel.

The city of Munich stands for an urban society without discrimination with equal opportunities for all. Equal rights are a constitutional principle, but the real implementation of this norm requires cooperation with civil society in addition to a state mandate. In Munich, there are a large number of organizations, institutions and projects that are involved in the task of implementing equal rights for women, men and people of other genders.
With this “Women’s Handbook Munich”, the Equal Opportunities Office for Women of the City of Munich offers an overview and information on where to turn with a specific concern. More information about the Equal Opportunities Office for Women can be found on our homepage.
