Portrait and offer
mira Mädchen*bildung has existed since 1996 and is an inclusive educational project for girls and young women as well as for professionals in the fields of political and vocational education, culture and media education. The practical work is derived from the findings of feminist research
The aim of the work is to support girls and young women in shaping their lives through specific educational programs and to offer them concrete assistance in coping with increasingly differentiated demands and tasks. In doing so, the services directly address the needs and issues of the girls and young women. mira’s approach is resource-, goal- and future-oriented. We see enjoyable learning and experience as a prerequisite for educational processes.

The city of Munich stands for an urban society without discrimination with equal opportunities for all. Equal rights are a constitutional principle, but the real implementation of this norm requires cooperation with civil society in addition to a state mandate. In Munich, there are a large number of organizations, institutions and projects that are involved in the task of implementing equal rights for women, men and people of other genders.
With this “Women’s Handbook Munich”, the Equal Opportunities Office for Women of the City of Munich offers an overview and information on where to turn with a specific concern. More information about the Equal Opportunities Office for Women can be found on our homepage.
