Portrait and offer
The Kreisjugendring München-Stadt (KJR) runs 50 municipal leisure centers and 9 daycare centers, as well as numerous projects for children and young people. Among other things, there are specialist units for work with girls and boys. These are responsible for the professional development of gender-specific and gender-sensitive work at the KJR.
Each leisure center has its own profile and is geared towards the needs of the district and, above all, the children, teenagers and young adults. They all have one thing in common: They offer space for meaningful leisure activities with competent supervision and advice from a total of around 400 educators. Many centers offer special activities for girls (e.g. dance, creative activities, etc.) and/or special opening hours for girls.
The KJR website provides detailed information on the full range of activities on offer.

The city of Munich stands for an urban society without discrimination with equal opportunities for all. Equal rights are a constitutional principle, but the real implementation of this norm requires cooperation with civil society in addition to a state mandate. In Munich, there are a large number of organizations, institutions and projects that are involved in the task of implementing equal rights for women, men and people of other genders.
With this “Women’s Handbook Munich”, the Equal Opportunities Office for Women of the City of Munich offers an overview and information on where to turn with a specific concern. More information about the Equal Opportunities Office for Women can be found on our homepage.
