Portrait and offer
“Taking responsibility for yourself and others”. Based on this motto, we empower women through educational programs and community experiences, but also through our social commitment and committee work. The aim of our voluntary work is to reach out to women from different backgrounds and life situations in order to jointly bring their experiences, interests and views to bear in church, politics and society.
In Munich, there are four focal points: our state-recognized consumer education base (mostly free events in the area of economic and legal education and sustainable consumption), our certified DigitalKompass location (free help – especially consultation hours – for older people on how to use the internet and digital services safely), our apartment building for 120 single women of working age on low incomes and our Munich local association with its monthly meetings or excursions.

The city of Munich stands for an urban society without discrimination with equal opportunities for all. Equal rights are a constitutional principle, but the real implementation of this norm requires cooperation with civil society in addition to a state mandate. In Munich, there are a large number of organizations, institutions and projects that are involved in the task of implementing equal rights for women, men and people of other genders.
With this “Women’s Handbook Munich”, the Equal Opportunities Office for Women of the City of Munich offers an overview and information on where to turn with a specific concern. More information about the Equal Opportunities Office for Women can be found on our homepage.
