Portrait and offer
Atelier La Silhouette is a social training company for vocational youth welfare in Haidhausen. It offers 16 socially disadvantaged girls and young women a three-year qualification in women’s tailoring. We are funded by the City of Munich and the ejsa (Evangelische Jugendsozialarbeit).
Our target group cannot currently be placed on the first training market, and no other measures have been able to take effect. Therefore, in addition to their practical training, the learners are also to be psychosocially stabilized. We work on their sustainable professional and social integration and thus aim to secure their livelihood during their training period and beyond.
Through teaching content, cooperation and projects that interweave fashion, culture, education and politics, the training is expanded holistically to include important methodological, social and personal skills in addition to specialist skills.

The city of Munich stands for an urban society without discrimination with equal opportunities for all. Equal rights are a constitutional principle, but the real implementation of this norm requires cooperation with civil society in addition to a state mandate. In Munich, there are a large number of organizations, institutions and projects that are involved in the task of implementing equal rights for women, men and people of other genders.
With this “Women’s Handbook Munich”, the Equal Opportunities Office for Women of the City of Munich offers an overview and information on where to turn with a specific concern. More information about the Equal Opportunities Office for Women can be found on our homepage.
