Founded in Munich in 1998, the 1st Women’s Housing and Building Cooperative has over 400 members. The purpose of the cooperative is to provide good, secure and socially responsible housing for the women members of the cooperative. In particular, the cooperative promotes communal and self-determined living in permanently secure conditions. It creates living space for women who want to live in a neighborly network with other women. The residential complexes are located in Messestadt Ost (50 apartments), Westend (25 apartments) and Domagkpark (43 apartments). The residential complexes are designed to be communicative, ecologically sensible, car-reduced, energy-saving and barrier-free.

The city of Munich stands for an urban society without discrimination with equal opportunities for all.
